I find it difficult to start something new, and am intimidated at first. Not only in this very extreme situation, but in many situations in my life I have been slow to take courage and be strong. I realized that I had finally found the courage I needed to speak against the spirits. I haven’t had a problem since (better luck than our dear character Gollum, whose demon returned). After having enough of this haunting, I screamed at the demons to leave and NEVER return. Repeatedly he said this, stronger and stronger, until finally he was gone. It was very much like the Lord of the Rings trilogy, in the third movie, when Gollum is arguing with his demon (for all intensive purposes…I don’t know what exactly to call it other than a possessive demon), and told him to, “Leave, NOW, and NEVER come back!”. I had gained the aggrivation and lack of sleep to finally comand these spirits to leave me and to never return. Night after night, I succeeded, but only for a night.

I didn’t know how to get them to go away except to pray. Though I was a child, and granted very imaginitive, I do not think all of it was make believe. I have many memories of things I felt, saw, etc. It’s the typical “there’s something in the closet”, but in my case I was seeing demons rather than monsters.
I struggled with hauntings as a child, and spent nights in fear of what I would experience. Yet I do it, time and again, and always come back to this principle.įear has been another thing that has dictated my life, not so much now but as a child. When I let Him take over it, everything falls into place, and I wonder why I ever tried to control things in the first place. Christ even said in John 14:6 that He is, “the way, the truth, and the life.” Things in my life have always worked out for the better when I give up and finally realize I cannot control it. Even if it gets dark, or there are many obstacles in our way, it means nothing to Him because He knows the way. Even we can’t see the end of the path, it doesn’t matter. He instructs us that we are supposed to let Him lead us. But God lets us know that it is OK to let go. The more control we have over things, the better.
This country is individualistic in a way that we are obsessed with control. With the first line, it really sums up having patience in God and in our lives, that He knows what He’s doing. My hardship pertained mostly to issues of grief, self esteem, and self worth, among others. Throughout my life, I have struggled through hardships, as everyone does. God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, It has really made a difference in my life. However, the Serenity part is very important and dictates the bulk of importance behind the name.įor the longest time, the serenity prayer has been a favorite prayer of mine. Simply, because the pair rolls nicely off the tongue. It also stands as a symbol of my goal to be as strong a woman as women like Queen Elizabeth. But why Serenity Elizabeth? Well, the Elizabeth part of it is minor, serving more as a tribute to the Elizabeths that have been in my life. This is an easier way to protect myself and those whom the poetry and prose are about. If I get my poetry and prose published, this is the name I wanted to be my pen name. It’s way more fun this way.I chose to call myself Serenity Elizabeth for writing purposes. No, I’m not going to tell you what my real name actually is. I figured I would explain what exactly this means. So, I always sign everything on here as Serenity Elizabeth.
